Che Shale is located on the Kenyan coast, we are right on the beach and we are the only hotel located on our beautiful 5 km bay.

We are a two-hour drive from Mombasa and a twenty-minute drive from Malindi. You will need a four-wheel drive vehicle for the last three kms of sand tracks that lead to Che Shale. If you do not have a four-wheel drive, Che Shale will send a Land Rover to pick you up at the end of the tarmac road.

We can also arrange for your transport from Mombasa Airport to Che Shale and from Malindi airport to Che Shale.

What makes Che Shale unique
Unlike most hotels on the Kenya coast, we are a very small beach hotel, just five bandas at Che Shale and the same number at Kajama, our budget-oriented sister property. We are also very secluded. In fact we are the only hotel situated on our wide beautiful bay that stretches 5 kilometers.

In addition to being small and secluded, our building style, the Che Shale style, is very unique. Our entire prpoperty is built out of renewable local materials such as Casaruina trees, palm trees, doum palms, cocunut fiber, mango wood and other local woods. You will not find anty plastic or any signs of a modern complicated life. Furniture and fittings and accessories have been carefully crafted and designed to give our natural setting a slightly contemporary feel.

When you arrive the first thing you do is kick your shoes and forget about them for the rst of your stay with us.
