African Latitude is a tour operator that specialises in creating exciting adventure safaris for people like you that are looking for something different. All our itineraries are original and have been created and refined by our directors and safari guides after much exploration of the different areas. Our company is managed and operated by people that have a passion for travel to these very destinations.

We have been operating in these regions for over 15 years. Even before that our directors were operating similar safaris throughout Sudan, Tanzania, Kenya, Zaire, and Namibia. In the early days we specialised in 4WD expeditions and safaris to the Northern Frontier Region of Kenya, with trips going to Lake Turkana and as far north as Lake Stephanie on the Ethiopian border and the Omo Delta by boats. Four wheel drive safaris were then our speciality, but over time we have realised the importance of a closer contact with the environment and the local people.

Now our main activity is ecologically friendly walking safaris in association with local communities.

We combine game viewing in national parks with walking in wilderness areas. And our safari vehicles are still very important for getting us to the best places to commence our walking safaris.

We aim to ensure that every trip we operate has some benefits to the local communities and we are strict to abide by an environmental code of ethics. Our ecological policy is to leave as little trace of our presence as possible so that others coming after will discover the natural beauty as we have had the pleasure to experience.

To travel in one of our groups you should be flexible and good humoured as well as prepared to endure a certain amount of heat, dust and rough tracks. Our safaris are for fit sportive people whether you choose a walking safari or a vehicle safari. Each group is accompanied by one of our experienced multi-lingual guides.

We now have a subsidiary company Latitude (TZ) established in Tanzania and the main office is located in Arusha.
