H2O Extreme, brings kite surfing in Kenya to a whole new level! We are an IKO (International Kite Boarding Organization) Center, as well as a Naish Hawaii Center.
Our centers are located at The Sands at Nomad Hotel, The Kenya Way Kite Village, and Forty Thieves Beach Bar. The centers cater for your whole family, with kite surfing (our main sport), wind surfing, SUP (stand up paddle surf), sea kayaks, and body boards. We offer courses and rentals for all our activities, from complete beginner levels all the way to expert clinics.
Kite surf
The south coast of Kenya has the perfect conditions for all wind sports, especially kite surfing; consistent side-shore breezes, wide sandy beaches for hassle-free launching and landing, warm water and a choice of flat water I the lagoon or waves out on the reef. Our IKO-certified kite instructors can teach from the basics, or can help you boost massive airs and ride the reef break.
Windsurf
Our kite surfing beach is also ideal for wind surfing, from beginner levels all the way up to expert levels. The perfect conditions with sheltered, flat water inside the reef will make life easy for beginners. For intermediate to advanced sailors Diani offers great blasting or freestyle conditions in the lagoon and down-the-line wave riding on the reef.
SUP
H2o Extreme is proud to announce that we are keeping up with the times, and will be the first to offer SUP courses and rentals as of the 1st of October 2009!!! For those of you who have never heard of SUP...this is the latest trend in water sports, much like kite surfing was six years ago when we started our center. SUP stands for 'Stand Up Paddle Surf'...basically a long board (approx 11ft long), that you stand up on propelling yourself with a single paddle. This sport is ideal for everyone, from flat water cruising to 'small wave' surfing...and is an extremely good work out for you fitness fanatics!
The biggest advantage for us is that this sport is best when there is no wind...so for all of you that ever sat around doing nothing, waiting for wind to go kite surfing, those days are over....try SUP and you will be as addicted to it as you are about kite surfing. Stand up paddle surfing started with the Hawaiians years and years ago, before regular surfing started, mainly as a method of fishing, much like the Peruvians did during the same period. The reason for this was that due to their big shore breaks or reef breaks they were unable to go in and out on regular boats, and thus surfing was born!!
