Since then it has grown steadily in to one of Africa's most stunning conference complex. a motivating polish and pan African flair, this 73 room, world- class facility will showcase the cream of Ugandan culture while delivering the ultimate in personalized service, international cuisine, social style and business reliability.
The inspiration for the Foundation
Envisioning its architectural inspiration from the abundance of Uganda's hills, vegetations, lakes and rivers, the Foundation is styled around a central mountain/forest theme, which manifests itself in hillside, construction, elegant roofing, carved steps and shimmering gardens.
The décor
The décor of the Foundation is the inspiration of its architects, Canon Kodwo E. Ankrah and Dr. E. Maxine Ankrah who have drawn their insight from the very essence of Uganda, which they perceive as being typified by its ever loving climate, lakes, rivers, lush vegetation and abundant fertility. These themes appear in both the exterior features of the Foundation and in the interior décor, where softly flowing fabrics, muted colours and organic themes prevail. Canon and Dr. Ankrah have also called upon the skills of numerous local artists to create the stunning carved panels, mosaic pillars, beaten copper platters, sensational traditional jewelries, Chinese wall hangings and hand-carved 'bambara birds', which bedeck the lounges.
The glorious gardens
Sitting on a 15 acres of beautiful grounds which provide shelter for a wide selection of indigenous trees and protection for a beautiful array of flowers, birds, butterflies; and various species of monkeys, the Foundation's extensive grounds provide a haven of calm and tranquility, doubling as a game park near Uganda's most cosmopolitan city.
