The city itself is a blend of both ancient gothic architecture and a few scyscrapers. The main street is Ziel which runs across the city dividing into two halves.
Goethe strasse is a small beautiful street adorned by Goethe's statue at one end and lined by super expensive shopping boutiques for the few rich.
St. Bartholomews cathedral is a wonderful chapel right next to Goethee strasse . with its high steeped dome and rustic architecture it is one of the major attractions.
Unlike much of the rest of Germany its quite young. Modern day Germany has almost twice as many retirees (rentners) as young people.
If you are looking for a place to meet other young people Mc Donalds just next to the underground train station (Der KonstableOberwasche) would be a nice place to start.
You can grab a mac burger or go across the street to Maritos for a good steak. wash this down with a German beer (I recommend the Schneider Weiss or Licher) and then visit one of the numerous music places.
If you like too you can sample music from different genres from the (strase musikante street musicians) who are in plenty all over the place.
All in all it was a great experience I cant imagine how Frankfurt is in summer but I will be there next summer!
PS: If you are the average young man who loves the three things tourists like . GO for it
Too much beer, no sun unfortunately (twas winter) All kinds of female species :-)
Ps: carry enough cash. Europe just never caught up with america's capitalism and mass market.
